Jasper National Park

Jasper National Park is the largest park in the Canadian Rockies and is almost unique in North America as it has one of the largest concentrations of low-elevation lakes so close to a major centre. It contains the hydrologic apex of North America, the Columbia Icefield - its meltwater feeds three oceans.

Guided trips in the Park are likely to offer sightings of bear, moose, elk, deer and sheep as well as a variety of birds such as osprey and eagles. Don't forget your camera!

Jasper National Park has a variety of fish which includes Pike, Rocky Mountain Whitefish, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Brook Trout, and Bull Trout.

The average size of these fish is in the 2 to 4 lb range although much larger fish are caught, including a 20.5 lb Rainbow (Alberta Record) and a 12 lb 13 oz Brook Trout. In an attempt to maintain our excellent fishery, we encourage catch-and-release.

Our season begins in April with river fishing for Pike, Whitefish and Bull Trout. May through October, we fish for Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Lake Trout and Pike almost exclusively.

Flyfishing instruction is one of our specialities. Your guide has wide experience in many fishing methods.

Experience all the pleasures of fishing one of Jasper's many trout lakes and streams with your own personal guide. [View video.]
